Feeding Texas is partnering with Texas Health and Human Services’ Community Partner Program and local food banks to host SNAP and Medicaid renewal events across the state over the next few months. See below for the locations and dates of these events.
This effort is to aid in the unwinding of the public health emergency (PHE) and the end of continuous Medicaid coverage. The events will offer no cost assistance to apply for SNAP, Medicaid, TANF, CHIP, CHIP Perinatal, Medicare Savings Program, and Healthy Texas Women.
Based on federal law, continuous Medicaid coverage ended on March 31, 2023. It is important for Texans to respond to any renewals or information requests from HHSC to ensure they keep their coverage, if still eligible.
Together, we hope to raise awareness of the end of continuous coverage and help community members with the SNAP and Medicaid renewal process, so Texans do not experience a gap or loss of coverage.
