As the Community Nutrition Program Manager, Beatriz oversees the development and implementation of community nutrition strategies throughout the state network. She focuses on increasing equitable access to nutrition education and healthy food, particularly in support of nutrition education (SNAP-Ed), Supporting Healthcare Including Nutrition Education (SHINE), and nutrition policy initiatives. Prior to joining Feeding Texas,  Beatriz’s involvement in community-based nutrition education programs led her to manage the Nutrition Education Team at the Central Texas Food Bank. Growing up in an underserved community, she experienced firsthand the challenges of limited access to nutritious foods, which inspired her to pursue nutrition and eating behavior studies in college. Beatriz holds an undergraduate degree in Nutrition and completed her dietetic internship at the University of Texas, Austin.
